Iggy came to live with us in March 1998 when he was only three months old. He is a Peruvian Green Iguana, which accounts for his beautiful green colouring. He is one of the softest iguanas we have ever come across, and has never whipped his tail or tried to bite us. Iggy is extremely handsome, although not too bright. Iggy's favourite things are: peas, making a mess, and curtains. |
We brought Pop home in April 1999, and he was also only three months old and we thought he was a she! Pop is a Giant Green Iguana (common!), so he isn't as green as Iggy. Pop was very scatty at first, and often whipped or bit us. Now, after much patience and perserverence, he has calmed down and just huffs or snots at us when he's annoyed. Pop's favourite things are: sleep, food, and curtains. |
The following pages contain pictures and information about Iggy and Pop's life, and how we look after them. We don't pretend to be experts in iguana husbandry - but would like to share our experiences of living with two very special iguanas with you. However, if we can help you with any queries, please email at the address below. Hope you enjoy the site! |
At the moment there are five pages of Iggy pictures, ranging from three months to two-and-a-half years old. |
So far, Pop has three pages of pictures, starting when he was three months old, to now, at 18 months old. |
Creating the right habitat is vital for keeping iguanas happy and healthy. Check out our habitat pages to see how the vivarium that we built and set up for Iggy and Pop. |
Getting the habitat and diet right are the most important factors in iguana husbandry. Unfortunately, most iguana-diet information on the 'net is written by (and aimed at) American owners. Have a look at our diet pages to see how we give Iggy and Pop a healthy diet - using food that is easily available in the UK!! |
Because Iggy and Pop are different types of iguanas, the difference in their growth is amazing! Go to our growth page and check out the growth charts to see how their different growth compares. |
There are many iguana sites on the net you can visit for information. Here you can find those sites which we think contain the best information, our favourite sites, and some other pages which you may like to check out. |
